Facts |
Grouse Mountain has
North America's largest aerial tramway system |
The BC
Mountaineering Club recorded the first climb of Mount Seymour in 1908.
In February 1936, Mount Seymour Provincial Park
was established with a total of 677 acres. |
Formerly known as
Cypress Bowl, Cypress Mountain is an integral part of Cypress Provincial
Park, where development is restricted to preserve the unspoiled beauty of
the Coast Mountain range. The resort is just minutes from downtown
Vancouver, and offers a wide range of winter and summer activities.
|
|
Location |
Cypress Mountain is about 25 minutes from downtown
Vancouver. From Downtown Vancouver take the Lions Gate Bridge and follow
the signs to Highway One (via Taylor Way). Continue west, take Exit #8
onto Cypress Bowl Rd. Follow this 3 lane, paved highway for 13 kms (8
miles) for Cross Country, SnowShoeing and SnowPlay/Tubing or 15 kms (9.3
miles) for Downhill.
There is daily Shuttle Bus service to Cypress Mountain from Park Royal
Center, Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal, Caulfeild Village, and the North
Vancouver SeaBus terminal.
|
Only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver. Follow Georgia Street westbound
through Stanley Park and across the Lion's Gate Bridge. Take the North
Vancouver exit to Marine Drive, then left up Capilano Road for 5 km (3.1
miles).
The public transit system offers regular service to the base of Grouse
Mountain every half hour. (Bus 232 from Phibbs Exchange/Bus 236 from
Lonsdale Quay)
|
Mount Seymour is 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver. Heading west on
Highway #1, cross the Second Narrows Bridge, take the 3rd Exit (#22) onto
Mount Seymour Parkway and follow the signs to the Provincial Park. Then
turn left at Mount Seymour Road (at the Mohawk Station), and drive 15
minutes up the road. |
