Aikido is a noncompetitive Japanese
martial art which uses throws and holds as techniques for
self-defense. Flowing circular and spiral movements are characteristic
of its soft style. Emphasis is on moving from the centre of the body
and on learning to use energy efficiently. Aikido integrates mind and
body into a practice and philosophy of life. May drop-in for $6 per

Once the ice is gone the rink becomes an
indoor skateboard park on Friday afternoons. Come and practice your
stuff in our dry, indoor skate park. Begins in April. |

becomes a trials riding playground to get you ready for the trails and

Prerequisite for the Red Cross Water
Safety Instructor Program. You will be taught emergency response
skills, leadership skills and stroke development. 14 yrs&up. |

Water Safety Instructor
Candidates are taught class management,
safety & supervision, leadership, communication, administration and
physical principles. Upon completion candidates will be qualified to
instruct Red Cross Learn to Swim programs. 16yrs&up |

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES |

YOP Mtn Biking Lesson Intro
Ideal for those with experience riding on
streets and trains with even terrain. Includes braking, cornering,
climbing, descending, balance skills, manuevering over and around
small objects, safety rules, and trail etiquette. Pre-requisite for
Lynn Valley Riders and Mountain Biking Camps if no previous experience
riding on trails with uneven terrain and obstacles. |

Join cyclists on these exciting weekly
rides. It's a great way to learn new skills and explore new trails on
the north shore. Rides are led by experienced coaches and riders. |
